The COVID-19 pandemic has reduced various business operations and life in quarantine is now the norm for most people across the globe. Despite the majority switching to working from home, an essential sector of individuals continues to work selflessly in order to serve the community and save lives. These are the people risking their health and safety at the frontline – healthcare and medical professionals, firefighters, emergency responders, and the police service.
Recent figures show that over 9% of the total COVID-19 infected cases in Italy are healthcare workers. In China, more than 3,000 medical professionals are suspected to have been infected by the virus and in Spain, 15,000 healthcare workers are confirmed to have contracted the virus.
Frontline workers are constantly subjected to unprecedented challenges and face the pandemic’s harsh reality on a daily basis, all of which are affecting their mental health. A study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association shows that out of 1,257 Chinese healthcare workers for COVID-19 patients, over 95% are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and insomnia and psychological stress.
To support the wellbeing of our remarkable frontline heroes during the global pandemic, LearningOnline.xyz is offering frontline workers all around the world with free access to Cudoo Pro. The subscription includes over 800 online courses in various subject areas such as Language and Communication, Soft Skills, Health and Wellness, Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, and more.
Ivan Vassiliev, CEO of LearningOnline.xyz commented, ‘Most of us are lucky to be able to work from home or learn new skills while being quarantined with our families. Those working at the frontline have a completely different reality. They are putting their lives on hold and their safety at risk, to deal with this crisis every single day, while some face psychological stress. Studies have proven that learning improves mental wellbeing, which is why we launched the initiative to provide frontline workers with free 1-year access to our online courses. It’s our way of saying thank you for their priceless contributions and supporting them in these challenging times.’
